Black Twitter Reacts To Khanyi Mbau Bagging A Lead Role On S2 Of #TheWifeShowmax. The cat is out of the bag and everyone is talking about it. Showmax’s latest popular series The Wife has had the masses talking since it premiered on the streaming service and fans are loving it. One thing they love apart from the thrilling storyline is the amazing casting for the show.

The cast of the show have done such a stellar job at breathing life into their roles that they have already bagged a season two of the show. Yesterday it was revealed that the upcoming new season will have additional new faces such as Khanyi Mbau who will be playing the role of Zandile.

Khanyi Mbau has landed the biggest role of her career and will be joining the record-breaking Showmax Original telenovela, The Wife, on Season 2 playing the lead role of Zandile who is the wife of Nkosana ( Mondli Makhoba), the eldest of the Zulu brothers’.  

Khanyi will be taking centre stage in Season 2, which premieres on Showmax in February 2022 with her role inspired by Dudu Busani-Dube’s bestselling novel Zandile The Resolute.  The upcoming season will be told through the eyes of Zandile, and they will be exploring Nkosana and Zandile’s love story while finding out more about their history.

Fans have since responded to the news and it looks like the reactions are a mixed bunch. Khanyi fans have shared their excitement about the actress landing the role and they have a lot of faith that the actress will deliver what’s needed for the role. The other half were simply not impressed and expressed how annoyed they are of seeing the same faces on every show and wished the role of Zandile was given to another new equally talented actress.
