In an exclusive statement to Briefly News, Zandie Khumalo-Gumede discussed her venture into the world of Maskandi music during her tumultuous involvement in the Senzo Meyiwa trial and in the midst of social media backlash.

Zandie Khumalo’s “Emagameni Amathathu” is positioned as a groundbreaking release within the Maskandi genre. Expressing her passion, she conveyed, “Since my hit single ‘Ngijabule Kabi (Ex Yami),’ there hasn’t been any significant song from a female artist in the Maskandi genre. Therefore, this Maskandi comeback is of great importance to me and women in general.” Her single aims to transcend boundaries by blending Gospel elements with Maskandi. Delivering a message of inspiration and empowerment to fellow female artists. Her ultimate goal is to encourage them to step forward and play a pivotal role in advancing the genre.
